Collin Caldwell was a man with short silver hair and a scowl on his face.

He spent the majority of the last two years tracking Jared Scott, the time-keeper to this place.

He came with the intention of going back into time, which he thought was wise,

And saving Brenda Caldwell, his late wife, from her tragic demise.

Collin had found the cure, one year too late,

Which could have altered, Brenda’s fate.

Brenda died of a lung disease

From breathing toxic magical things.

Only the enchanted could tolerate magical air,

Which the un-enchanted could only minimally bare.

But Collin had a potion elixir,

Which he felt confident, if he could go back, he could fix her.

He arrived at Jared Scott’s front door

And banged on it loudly, where Marjory answered with her charm and allure.

Marjory was a beautiful young wife, who was used to spending her time mostly alone,

Since her husband, Jared, did his business in different timelines away from their home.

Marjory wore a simple cotton black dress

And a white apron tied about her waist.

She had warm hazel eyes and her cheeks wore a blush

And her silken black hair stayed tied up in a rush.

She had handprints of white flour on her waist,

And evidence of hard working sweat dampening the brow on her face.

She was accustomed to the occasional stranger seeking her peculiar husband.

She smiled as she answered the door and greeted Collin with a “Welcome, friend.

”Do please come in and warm yourself by the fire.

”I will get us some tea while you relay your desire.”

But Collin was half mad with hysteria and was feeling viciously impatient, indeed.

He had no time for idle chit chat. He was a man with one need,

To bring Brenda back to his embrace,

Back with her smiling face.

”Jared Scott, the time keeper, when do you expect his return?”

”Anytime, now,” Marjory said casually, while taking the bread off the heat, as not to burn.

And she was right, because at that moment, Jared walked in with an armload of wood.

He wore his top hat, blue trousers, showing off his green skin and slender profile, looking where Collin currently stood.

In a frenzy Collin announced, “I demand you to take me back to my wife, for I have the cure

This should prolong her life for that which ailed her.”

”I am sorry, friend, but time travel does not work in that way,

”For starters only I can travel safely, so you would have to stay,

”But I cannot alter anyone’s death at all.

”The grim has called them and will find alternate ways to collect their soul.”

After finding the cure, then finding the time-keeper and then to be told no,

Collin Caldwell just could not let go.

”If you cannot give me back my wife, then I will take yours from you.

”Now tell me again, there is nothing you can do.”

Jared tried leading Collin away from his wife and through the door,

But Collin just stood there with his wand out as Jared replied with, “I can do nothing more.”

So Collin waved his wand and spoke words of enchantment as lights dazzled and launched,

And the lovely Marjory Scott, the time-keeper’s wife, turned into a pocket watch.
