The pelvic floor comprises a group of muscles forming the base of the pelvis. Working in tandem with the diaphragm, these muscles regulate internal pressures within the abdominal cavity. Additionally, they collaborate with the abdominal and spinal muscles to establish stability and mobility, forming the foundation of the pelvis. The methods Valerie uses to work pelvic floor consists of external techniques that are mostly worked in both face up and face down positions. Valerie frequently likes utilizing these techniques with her other hip work techniques not learned through the Morales Method. Together, she has found that this frequently helps alleviate or at the least, greatly reduces, low back pain. Other conditions or issues that pelvic floor can help with include:
- Back pain
- Postnatal recovery
- Groin pulls or hip injuries
- Incontinence from over exertion or childbirth
