Valerie Carsey, LMT in Hillsboro, OR, believes massage has been one of the most amazing professions she has had the honor to participate in, and she truly believes in massage being a safe space for all.
Valerie Carsey received her massage therapist certification from Mueller College of Holistic Studies in San Diego, CA, in 2003. She had her own practice for about 5 years under the name Valerie LeBlanc Massage and Aromatherapy, working as an independent contractor inside Wesenberg Chiropractic in Ventura, CA.
In 2004, Valerie completed a 6 month certification in holistic aromatherapy from Ojai School of Massage.
Between 2006 and 2018, Valerie stopped massaging professionally and only worked on friends and family. During this time she earned her BS in Business Administration with a Marketing focus through Portland State University (2013).
In 2018, Valerie started working at Massage Envy Tanasbourne until she moved to Oregon Spine and Disc in 2020.
In 2020, after completing her second (the first in 2019 from East West College of the Healing Arts, Portland, Or) full prenatal and postnatal massage course she earned her certification in prenatal (pregnancy) and postnatal massage from Family Massage Education Center in Ashland, OR.
In 2022, Valerie completed the certification course in manual lymphatic drainage – Vodder Technique, through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies.
In 2023, Valerie has started working towards her certification in craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Institute. She has completed the first of three exams. Up to this point she has completed through the Upledger Institute their Craniosacral 1 course, their Craniosacral 2 course and their SomatoEmotional 1 course.
In April 2024, Valerie left Oregon Spine and Disc and opened her own practice, Valerie Carsey, LLC as an independent contractor located inside Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club.
Valerie offers a blending of the following techniques during the course of your therapeutic massage: Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, Trigger Point, Accupressure, Swedish Massage, Prenatal (Pregnancy) Massage, Stretching, Counterstrain, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral Therapy, external pelvic floor work and scar tissue work.
Valerie’s Other Interests
When Valerie is not massaging, she spends her time listening and reading many books and writing fantasy novels, going out to fun events with her husband and watching hockey when possible.
