Gabby Down
Was the local school reporter in town
Assigned to get an interview
With the Super Sniffer in Vaser, in lieu
Of the recent events that happened in the local aquatic park,
Where local swimming champ, Jessica Valdez was attacked by a shark.
And here is where the Super Sniffer comes into play,
Alonzo Cupboard was going to decipher which way
The shark in suspect swam off to,
So the local authorities could capture it with their crew.
Alonzo was an average built man about five foot ten,
With thick black hair, rich brown eyes and two perfectly formed feet that would wear a fin.
He dressed in a swim suit and wore full body tattoos
In the way that the people in Vaser most oftentimes do.
But the feature that stood out on Alonzo the most of all,
Was his enormous horn of a nose off a face that was small.
Alonzo had the remarkable ability,
To smell underwater with certain agility.
Gabby smoothed the ruffles on her swimsuit and slicked her hair back.
She had only a few tattoos, and they were only etched in black.
She swam to the isolated bubble, which was Alonzo’s home,
Walked through the air lock and patted the statue of the garden gnome.
Alonzo’s house looked like a hut made of yellow straw,
But his front lawn was well manicured green grass with a garden as the draw.
Gabby knocked on the door and held her breath.
As Alonzo opened the door with an expression of death.
Alonzo was not a warm and friendly man,
He liked his world in a certain order and preferred not to mingle when he could avoid it on his land.
”I’m Gabby from Mermaid High. I came to as discussed a couple questions and take a picture of you.”
”Yes, of course, do come in,” Alonzo said, cringing at the things he sometimes had to do.
“Thank you for seeing me, I have just a few questions,” Gabby said.
Alonzo nodded consent, though he faced the questions with dread.
”My first question is: do you think you can smell the direction of a particular shark under water?”
”Yes, of course,” Alonzo said, “Or else I would never bother.”
”How do you know the difference from one shark versus another?”
”The same way I can tell the difference via smell between a sister and a brother.”
”And how are you able to smell in the sea,”
”That is my secret,” Alonzo smiled and winked, “That is especially just for me.”
”Is there anything you would like to say to the readers at Mermaid High?”
Alonzo was annoyed but gracious for the quick interview, “ Sure, tell them thank you for their support by and by.”
