Joy Doodle lived on the border
Between her world and the magical order
Of a world of dreams, whose people call Juju.
And with the wink of an eye, she knows what to do.
Into the garden, past the apple trees,
Past the green house and through the fallen leaves,
Into an archway that on her side was just green,
But if she continued just a little bit further, she’d start to see the marks of a queen.
This queen was the queen of the sugar fearies,
And this queen’s mark were the tiny red electric berries.
Joy learned that the electric berries were planted carefully with dust of sunlight,
and harvested very quietly in the dark of the night.
Joy Doodle would hide behind the silver metallic pots to watch the fearies come,
And she had to stifle her giggles as she watched their innocent fun.
The fearies would do somersaults in the air in their giggle fits,
And they would wrestle for tiny electric berry bits.
Sometimes Joy would see one stuff a whole berry in her mouth,
Causing the fearie’s cheeks to puff far out.
And sometimes another mischevious fearie would smoosh the fat cheeks,
Causing the first fearie to spit out the berry in squeaks!
The challenge for joy was that the fearies always came out when it was late,
And she had to back away quietly for her bed that would wait.
But her mom would not wait for long.
Her mom was prompt for her bedtime story and song.
But one day, Joy knew in her heart,
One day she would follow the fearies into the magical parts.
