In the city of The Children of Vale, in the country of water,
Hallows Month is focused on the one day visit of the All Father.
While other countries prepare for the Wish Grantor’s tricks and his treats,
The Children of Vale lay down kale for his feet.
Pumpkins are placed on the mats for the doors.
Pictures of cats are in the windows of stores.
Orange and Black streamers cover the ceilings.
Mermaids and Mermen come into town for their dealings.
And the man comes in on the tide of a storm.
Water goes rushing and tide pools are formed.
Emmerson Shine
With his bathing suit on,
Holds an Autumn wreath from the end of his thumb.
And the whole community starts singing,
Cheering the merriment that the Wish grantor’s bringing.
Mr. Vale, the Wish Grantor, the All Father of The Children of Vale,
Comes bearing presents in a gigantic sea shell.
Jackson Black
Can’t hold himself back.
He rocks on his heels
And he rolls without wheels.
His mother catches him
By the back of his hand.
Iridescent fish are placed in large bowls
And placed all around the clear tubing halls.
Electric eels are placed in large tanks,
Where the city dwellers line up in large ranks.
Mr. Vale is dressed up for the day.
He arrives in a top hat, suspenders, a black shirt, and orange shoes for play.
He rides on the waves and comes in through the air tunnel.
The children are screaming and all start to funnel,
For hugs, for presents and for his picture,
So, they can show to generations as permanent wall fixtures.
